After serving as the president of Barber Financial Group’s Lee’s Summit, Missouri office, Kasper was excited to join forces with Modern Wealth co-founders Jason Gordo, Mike Capelle, and Gary Roth in effort to provide a full scope of wealth management services to people nationwide.

Kasper’s career in the financial services industry has spanned four decades (fellow Modern Wealth managing director Dean Barber sometimes calls Kasper the original CFP® Professional). He spent 14 of those 40 years at Kasper Steck Wealth Management until it merged with Barber Financial Group in 2009. Bud’s career began with Paine Webber in 1983.

Bud feels blessed to continue working alongside his wife, Peggy, and son, Matt, with Modern Wealth. Peggy serves as the Chief Operations Officer – Lee’s Summit Office, while Matt is an executive advisor. During Bud’s tenure with Barber Financial Group, he joined Barber in building a team of CFP® Professionals, CPAs, estate planning specialists, insurance experts, and other professionals that was offering asset management, estate planning, retirement planning, and insurance at an exemplary level. He and Barber are joined by former Osiwala Financial Group President and CEO Ken Osiwala as managing directors at Modern Wealth.

At Barber Financial Group, he and Barber implemented the Guided Retirement System, which is a comprehensive financial planning process that begins roughly a decade prior to the client’s desired retirement date and goes through the entirety of their retirement. Gordo, Roth, and Capelle liked what they saw in the Guided Retirement System and Barber Financial Group’s core services. It was an easy decision for them to reach out to Barber and present the opportunity to carry out many of their ideals on the national level at Modern Wealth.
