Third Party Administration Consultant

TPA Consultant is a critical role within the Modern Wealth Team, responsible for administration work on various types of retirement plans. This position blends client facing activities with data centered work and is accountable for correct entry of client data, final calculations and preparation of valuations. In addition, this position requires presentation and review of final materials to clients, therefore proficiency in retirement plan design and administration is necessary.

Primary Duties

  • Supporting a caseload of small/mid-size clients, handling correspondence and communication via phone, email, and/or in-person meetings.
  • Managing a block of defined contribution retirement plans, requiring full administration duties including plan census collection, contribution calculations, nondiscrimination testing, trust accounting, account reconciliation, calculation of eligibility, vesting and other related administrative duties.
  • Prepare and/or review qualified retirement plan documents, amendments and plan compliance testing utilizing approved software.
  • Prepare and/or review Forms 5500 & 8955-SSA utilizing approved software.
  • Review and scrub census data for accuracy and missing information.
  • Calculate corrective distributions for testing failures, including associated earnings, along with Form 5330. Calculate lost earnings on late deposits of 401k deferrals and/or loan repayments.
  • Collect/prepare and distribute required plan notices including but not limited to: Safe Harbor, Qualified Default Investment Alternative, automatic enrollment and fee disclosures.
  • Ensure that client needs, requests and challenges are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Assist senior consultant with work with Actuaries on cash balance/DC combination plans.

Qualifications

  • Qualified 401(k) Administrator or Qualified 401(k) Consultant credentials
  • 3+ years of experience working in TPA Plan Administration with responsibilities for book of business
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Able to work independently and proactively
  • Strong organization and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail

Preferred

  • FtWilliam software experience
  • ASPPA certification

Salary/Benefits

Client Service Specialist

Would you describe your work product as accurate, thorough, and exact? Are you proactive and driven to solve problems with data? Primary Duties:

  • Responsible for accurately generating all account paperwork for prospects and clients using a combination of DocuSign and paper forms and collaborating with advisors on complex requests
  • Following up with clients or other financial firms on status or issues with account transfers
  • Responsible for the new account processes, including – working with operations assistant and billing team to ensure updates to client fees are processed correctly and with the necessary forms
  • Manage a queue of paperwork requests, following up with clients, and alerting the sales team of any issues
  • Monitor incoming and outgoing transactions within investment accounts.
  • Process client service requests and client review prep as assigned by sales teams.
  • Ensure fields in Salesforce are completed as needed
  • Process incoming deposits
  • Work in financial planning software to make updates as needed

Requirements:
