Stephen Tuckwood (Tuck) joins Modern Wealth Management as the firm’s Director of Investments. Tuck and his team will be responsible for the design, construction, management, and oversight of the firm’s investment platform. He’ll be leveraging almost two decades of industry experience and an extensive investment manager network to bring innovative investment solutions to the Modern Wealth advisor base.
Prior to joining Modern Wealth, he worked within Goldman Sachs’ Alternative Investments & Manager Selection (AIMS) Group, which is responsible for identifying, researching, and selecting leading third-party investment managers. There, he helped provide investors with investment and advisory solutions across multiple asset classes by engaging, diligencing, and collaborating with leading investment managers from around the world. With over 350 professionals across 11 offices globally, the AIMS Group helps institutional and individual investors with their program design, manager diligence, portfolio construction, and risk management.
Previously, Tuck was the Head of Research at United Capital, where he led a team of investment professionals responsible for the firm’s $15 billion centralized investment platform. In addition to running the Research Team, Tuck was the portfolio manager for their Core Portfolio Solutions as well as the specialized Active Equity strategies. He also served as a content leader for the design of client literature about the investment platform and oversaw the development and evolution of new mediums for delivering messaging from Investment Management to the advisor base, clients, and prospects.
Tuck has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in finance and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation. He was born and raised in the United Kingdom and moved to the United States after earning a scholarship to play Division I soccer (real football) for a university in Georgia. Tuck resides in Atlanta with his wife and two children.
