Christopher Demetropoulos
Senior Advisor
Department: Advisors
Experience: Wealth management since 2000
Education: B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and an Executive Certificate in Certified Financial Planning from Duke University
Christopher joined the Modern Wealth team in December 2024 as a financial advisor and portfolio manager. He arrived at Modern Wealth following the acquisition of LFM Wealth Management in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The investment options available to clients and the firm’s breadth of investment experience made Christopher excited to come on board at Modern Wealth.
Christopher became interested in investing in 1987 when the first contemporary global financial crisis (Black Monday) unfolded. Watching all the news coverage made him curious about finding out what happened and why. He enjoyed learning about investing and how people are different when it comes to their investments.
During an 18-year tenure with Trillium Asset Management, Christopher realized that making investments based on environmental, social, and governance issues was how he wanted to invest. The five-plus years he spent at LFM allowed him to merge this style of investing with traditional investing.
Christopher and his wife are navigating life as empty nesters now that their child is in college. He enjoys camping and hiking and is very active in his community.
Christopher is a committee member for First in Families of North Carolina. First in Families is a catalyst for individuals and families to meet self-determined wellness goals by leveraging relationships and resources and encouraging reciprocity in their communities. He previously served on the FIFNC board of directors. Christopher also supports the Red Cross and Samaritan’s Purse.
