Sonja joined the team in March 2026 when Legacy Wealth Management became Modern Wealth Management. Since starting her career in 2005, she has worked closely with clients to help them toward their financial goals. Some of the areas that Sonja specializes in include wealth management, strategic asset allocation, and retirement, tax, estate, and insurance planning.
Sonja enjoys utilizing a systematic approach when working with clients on their financial plans — building, implementing, and reviewing the plan. It’s her goal to empower her clients to make informed financial decisions to help give them confidence as they work toward their goals. Her client base ranges from individuals and families to corporations and businesses. She strongly believes that each client should have a plan that’s centered around their unique needs, wants, and wishes.
Sonja started her wealth management career with a large financial planning firm before joining the Legacy Wealth Management team. She earned her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in 2008. Sonja graduated with honors in psychology from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut.
Sonja lives in Plantation, Florida. She also is a competitive open-water swimmer at the local, national, and international levels. Sonja is a USMS Open Water national champion and earned All-American honors and won a bronze medal in the 3,000 meters at the World Masters Swimming Championships in Canada in 2014. Along with swimming, Sonja stays active by supporting local animal rescue organizations.
