Nic’s job duties range from completing the morning alerts every day to working on client paperwork for Required Minimum Distributions, Roth conversions and model changes, to assisting with servicing the annuity accounts. He really enjoys the small business and family atmosphere that Modern Wealth provides for its staff and clients. It’s rewarding for Nic to help people in a way that helps them feel more secure about their future.
Working at Modern Wealth has shown Nic that it is possible to work hard, do a good job, and have a great work-life balance. He enjoys spending time with loved ones and family, collecting records, cassettes, and movies, going to concerts, bowling, surfing, and working on cars. Nic is an avid heavy metal fan and will take almost any opportunity to see live music.
Shane dedicates himself to helping his clients achieve financial independence, allowing them to retire with more confidence that they’re doing the right things with their money, freedom from financial stress, and time to spend doing the things they love. As a father and a grandfather, Shane understands that there are far more important things in his clients’ lives than money, and he works diligently to ensure that they can focus on those things.
Having spent nearly 20 years behind the scenes in the manufacturing industry, he gained a deep and unbiased knowledge of how the real economy works. Because of that experience, he believes that understanding the complex relationship between the economy and the financial markets is paramount in managing risk, providing sound advice and implementing wise solutions. His approach, of building a well-crafted wealth management plan that integrates the four pillars of asset management, tax planning, risk management, and estate planning puts the focus where it should be, on the clients’ best interests.
For Shane, the saying “you only get one life, so you should live it the best way you can” is the driving force behind his work for his clients…helping them to live their lives, the best way they can. Shane holds the Registered Financial Consultant (RFC) designation and has passed his series 7 and 66 exams.
Sadie Barker, our Head of People, is responsible for building the people infrastructure that supports the firm’s continued growth, overseeing HR compliance, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and learning and development as well as internal communications and community building.
Sadie joined Modern Wealth in March 2024 during a period of rapid expansion and has built the firm’s modern, in-house people platform, including payroll, benefits, performance, learning and engagement systems.
Previously, Sadie spent a decade supporting high-growth companies through scale and transformation. She served as a fractional HR director for startups and small businesses and later drove a multi-year HR transformation at a multi-national company leading global teams.
Sadie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Fontbonne University and a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Webster University. She also holds a Senior Certified Professional designation from SHRM, is a certified ADKAR change practitioner and Personalysis Coach. She lives in the Kansas City area with her three sons and enjoys baking, being outdoors, and traveling.

Suzanne enjoys meeting with clients to discuss their tax planning options. She has spent much of her career as a tax manager at regional CPA firms. Outside of work, Suzanne enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, walking, quilting, and volunteering.
Since joining the team in March 2025 via the acquisition of Wade Financial Advisory, Rachael has worked closely with the leadership team to shape and carry out the firm’s long-term strategy and goals.
Rachael’s career began at WFA in 2001. She worked closely with WFA Founder Rodney Wade and learned something valuable from each person on the Wade team that has contributed to her professional growth. Rachael held many roles during her time with WFA, including various administrative positions, client service associate, paraplanner/tax preparer, portfolio management assistant, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Compliance Officer.
She was born and raised in Northern California. Rachael and her husband, Phillip, live in San Jose and are thankful to have most of their family nearby. Her son, Matthew, lives in the Sacramento area, her brother and his family also live in the Bay Area, and her parents still spend a lot of time in Lincoln, which is near Matthew. She’s grateful that her family stays connected and makes the most of their time together.
Rachael has a pretty wide range of hobbies. She loves reading daily and is a big fan of The New York Times puzzles. When she’s feeling a little more hands-on, she loves building Lego sets—it’s surprisingly relaxing! Rachael enjoys camping and being in the wilderness—there’s something about getting outdoors that helps her recharge. And, of course, she’s always up for a pool day with some great music playing in the background.

Nicole leads Modern Wealth’s regional office strategy and enterprise operating model across the firm’s national footprint. In this role, she oversees both the Regional Operations and Office Integration functions, driving consistency, scalability, and operational excellence across all offices. She also serves as the on-site General Manager for Modern Wealth’s Growth and Operations Hub in Mesa, Arizona.
Nicole is responsible for the full lifecycle integration of new offices, establishing standardized operating frameworks, governance, and execution models that enable seamless onboarding, rapid stabilization, and long-term performance. Through her leadership of regional operations, she ensures alignment across teams, strengthens cross-functional collaboration, and builds infrastructure that supports sustainable growth at scale.
Previously, Nicole served as Head of Growth Operations at Modern Wealth, where she owned the firm’s organic growth channels and delivered qualified prospects to advisory teams nationwide.
Prior to joining Modern Wealth, Nicole was Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Commercial Engagement at Goldman Sachs, where she led advisor partnership strategy, enabling effective lead generation, client conversion, and pipeline management across a national advisor network.
Nicole holds an MBA from the Southern Methodist University Cox School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in marketing and management from Northeastern University. She has also completed executive education through Harvard University, earning a Certificate in Power and Influence for Positive Impact.

He is deeply committed to helping people live intentionally by aligning their financial decisions with what matters to them most – whether that’s today’s needs, tomorrow’s milestones, or future aspirations.
He finds energy in helping clients navigate completing priorities to try to help them feel assured that their financial future is thoughtfully and strategically prepared for. These values are reflected in Caleb’s own family life, where they prioritize saving wisely, giving generously, and investing in meaningful experiences.
He believes there is no one-size-fits-all formula, just thoughtful choices that reflect each family’s unique values and season of life.
Before transitioning into financial planning, Caleb spent two years as a high school social studies teacher, where he developed a passion for helping others think critically and make informed decisions – skills that continue to shape his approach to financial advising today.
Prior to joining Modern Wealth in March 2025, Caleb spent two and a half years at Wade Financial Advisory, where he provided comprehensive financial planning and earned his Enrolled Agent credential through the IRS. Before that, he served as an Associate Financial Advisor at Northwestern Mutual for five years, earning both his CFP® Professional and Chartered Financial Consultant® designations.
Caleb grew up in Illinois and Wisconsin before moving to Utah in 2021. He currently lives in Ogden, Utah, with his wife, Holly, and their daughters, Elowen and Fiona. He enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, long family walks, jigsaw puzzles, reading, and being an active member of Covenant Grace Church in Syracuse.

As a concierge associate, Graham reaches out to prospective clients — learning about their unique circumstances and financial and life goals and educating them about Modern Wealth Management’s Advantage Offerings. Graham schedules complimentary meetings between prospective clients and Modern Wealth’s advisors. He loves talking with people about their goals and how Modern Wealth can assist them in reaching their objectives.
Graham joined the Modern Wealth team in September 2025. He aspires to be a financial advisor and has enjoyed learning about the wealth management industry from his colleagues early in his career.
Prior to arriving at Modern Wealth, Graham spent two years working in management for Alterra Mountain Company, the largest privately-owned ski company in the world, in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. He oversaw the day-to-day operations of a luxury ski rental delivery service, where he worked with celebrities and corporate clients and established partnerships with local properties management groups. Graham also spent previous summers working with the Colorado Mountain Club and the City of Steamboat Springs, where he collaborated with the U.S. Forest Service and nonprofit organizations to increase access to trails in Northwest Colorado.
The career transition to the wealth management industry also provided Graham the opportunity to move back to Kansas City and be closer to family. Graham received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Kansas State University, where he majored in marketing with a minor in psychology.
Graham spends a lot of his free time out in nature. Skiing, backpacking, cycling, fishing, and disc golf are some of his favorite outdoor activities. He also enjoys playing guitar and watching Jeopardy! Graham hopes to be a contestant on the famous game show one day.

Wayne joined the Modern Wealth team in January 2025 to oversee the firm’s financial operations, reporting, and governance and support high-level strategic planning. He provides regulatory oversight for financial reporting and accounting to help ensure operations are compliant and responsive to operational or regulatory changes.
Based out of our Lenexa, Kansas office, Wayne collaborates with senior leaders to understand business needs, develop strategies, and align financial goals with business objectives. He reviews and approves budgets and forecasts to ensure resources and efforts align with the organization’s mission.
Wayne also evaluates and improves financial modeling and analytical tools to measure and forecast the impact of various economic scenarios, risks, and business changes. He identifies and oversees funding through debt, equity, and various financial instruments to support business operations, optimize cash flow, and manage risk.
The entirety of Wayne’s career has been in the financial services industry. He has previously served as the VP of Finance at Mariner Wealth Advisors, SS&C (formerly DST Systems), and JPMorgan Chase and as a financial analyst at American Century Investments.
Wayne married his college sweetheart, Amy, and they have two children, Austin and Brooke. They enjoy spending time at the lake, the beach in Grand Cayman, and in the mountains of Breckenridge, Colorado. Wayne’s favorite hobbies include spending time on his boat at the lake, playing golf, attending/watching sporting events (football, soccer, baseball, and volleyball), and listening to country music, especially Kenny Chesney.
Along with having a passion for finance, Wayne excelled on the football field. He was an All-American placekicker at Missouri State University and went on to be elected to the Missouri State Hall of Fame and play for the San Diego Chargers.

Based in the Calabasas, California office, Jill assists in all aspects of customer service and helping clients with their financial needs. She assists advisors with preparing paperwork for various tasks related to management, new accounts, changes to existing accounts, and compliance forms.
Jill’s daily tasks include all types of transactions, which include placing trades, billing client quarterly fees, depositing funds and processing distributions to clients. She constantly manages Schwab alerts, prioritizing and passing along to the proper parties.
Jill joined the team in April 2025 when Planned Asset Management became Modern Wealth Management. Jill arrived at Planning Asset Management in January 2023, serving as an operations manager.
She also spent a 12-year stint as an operations manager at the financial firm she was at prior to Planned Asset Management. At that firm, she supervised a team of four processors who serviced four financial advisors. Prior to entering the financial field, Jill was a property casualty agent for 25 years.
Jill and her husband both grew up in Los Angeles, but have recently moved to South Carolina and are loving it there. Since coming to South Carolina, Jill and her husband have taken up pickle ball, walking, sightseeing, and other outdoor activities.
