Melisa Santiago

Education: Bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in child psychology from Montclair State University 

Melisa joined the team in May 2026 when Flaharty Asset Management became Modern Wealth Management. She supports our advisory team with client service and account management, including opening and maintaining accounts, coordinating transactions, and ensuring a smooth and efficient client experience. Melisa also assists with day-to-day operations so our advisors can remain focused on delivering personalized financial guidance. 

Her career also includes a 10-year stint with Merrill Lynch, where she built a strong foundation in financial services and client support. Melisa then joined Flaharty Asset Management in 2021, where she supported advisors and clients with account administration, operations, and relationship management. 

Melisa is married and has three children, including twins, and loves spending quality time with her family whenever she can. Her children are her biggest motivation, and the reason Melisa strives to grow both personally and professionally. In her free time, Melisa enjoys going to the beach, being outdoors, and making memories with her kids.  

Melisa proudly supports Ronald McDonald House Charities. Her twins were born at 23 weeks, and during that time, her family stayed at a Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia for several weeks. She believes it’s an incredible organization that provides support and comfort to families during very difficult times. 

Melisa was born and raised in New Jersey. She appreciates both the fast-paced energy of the Northeast and the more relaxed lifestyle of Florida. Melisa’s personal experiences, including navigating challenges with her family, have shaped her perspective and allow her to connect with clients on a more meaningful and empathetic level.
