Lexi Hughes

Experience: Accounting since April 2018 

Education: Bachelor of Science degree from Missouri State University 

Lexi joined the Modern Wealth team as a staff accountant in February 2026. Her focus has been accounts receivable with maintaining the general ledger, preparing and reviewing monthly financial statements, reconciling bank and investment accounts, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes. She also supports budgeting and forecasting efforts, ensures compliance with financial regulations, and collaborates with advisors and operations teams to ensure accurate reporting of client-related financial activity. 

Lexi has been able to utilize her accounting skills at the small-to medium-sized business level in various industries, including non-profits, property management, and construction with her family’s business. In 2025, Lexi did accounting for a sport retail company. Lexi has felt herself drawn to the financial services industry throughout her career, so she was intrigued by the opportunity to join the Modern Wealth team.  

Lexi is a former Division I basketball player from Missouri State University, so she spends a lot of her time outside of work coaching basketball at the college and high school levels as an assistant and providing skill/shooting development training.  

You can also oftentimes find Lexi spending time with her three younger sisters. Together, they enjoy sports (playing or watching), music (concerts or listening to their favorite artists), and art (creative activities like painting/photography or going to the arts district to view galleries or attending First Fridays). Lexi loves attending or watching women’s sporting events, hanging out in creative spaces like speakeasies and art galleries, exploring new foods, and writing poetry.
