Larry joined the team in May 2026 when Flaharty Asset Management became Modern Wealth Management. He specializes in helping high-net-worth families and business owners toward their financial goals. Larry has more than two decades of experience in investment selection, asset protection, and estate planning.
Larry earned his Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® designation during the eight years he spent at Merrill Lynch as a senior financial advisor. He also previously served as a producing sales manager for Merrill Lynch and Bank of America Investments.
Larry has been a registered advisor since 1998 and is registered in Florida, California, Georgia, Illinois, North Carolina, New Jersey, Ohio, Texas, and Vermont.
In addition to earning his Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® designation, Larry has obtained his Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) and Professional Plan Consultant (PPC®) designations. He also holds his Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses as well as life insurance, health insurance, and variable annuity registrations and licenses.
Larry went to the University of Colorado, initially on an Air Force ROTC scholarship. He is very involved in the community, especially through his charity work. Larry is also on the team selection committee of the ReliaQuest Bowl that’s hosted each year at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
