Joe joined the team in May 2026 when Flaharty Asset Management became Modern Wealth Management. He works closely with advisors and clients to create financial plans, portfolio implementation, and overall client experience.
Joe also specializes in technology and cybersecurity, helping ensure both client data and internal systems are secure, efficient, and aligned with modern high-level practices. From protecting the digital identity of clients to improving how they interact with their financial plan, Joe enjoys helping clients feel more organized, confident, and secure in every aspect of their financial world. He is also a member of ISC2, a global nonprofit focused on advancing cybersecurity education and professional standards, where he earned the ISC2 (cc) designation.
Joe arrived at Flaharty Asset Management in 2015. He has previous experience with working in a fast-paced advisory environment supporting high-net-worth clients with investment management, financial planning, and operational processes.
Joe lives in Florida with his wife, Aly, and their three children, Wesley, Daisy, and Sebastian. Life outside of work for Joe is centered around family. He enjoys spending time with them, whether they’re at the beach, traveling, riding bikes, metal detecting, racing RC cars, video games, or just enjoying a pool day together.
Some of Joe’s other hobbies include fly fishing (salt and freshwater), saltwater aquariums, building things with his hands (especially metal work and jewelry), free diving, learning about cybersecurity, and staying on top of new technology trends.
Joe used to catch his own saltwater fish and put them in his aquariums during his time in Boca Raton. He’s passionate about supporting causes that help families, children, and animals in need. Joe especially appreciates organizations focused on animal rescue and welfare, as well as efforts that provide education and financial literacy to underserved communities.
