Jason Mathewson

As a Retirement Plan Educator, Jason prepares materials to help individuals and groups learn and understand more about their retirement accounts. He informs them about different tools available and demonstrates what to potentially expect for their future. 

When Jason joined Modern Wealth’s company retirement plan team in June 2025, it marked the beginning of his career in the retirement plan industry. The opportunity to continuously help and guide people who have questions about their financial future was something that Jason found appealing about his role at Modern Wealth.  

Modern Wealth also presented Jason the opportunity to expand upon his passion of being an educator. Prior to working at Modern Wealth, Jason was an elementary and preschool teacher. He taught second through fifth grade for about five years and taught preschool inside the Strong Museum of Play. Jason’s background in education also includes earning his bachelor’s in business administration and master’s in elementary education and special education from Nazareth University. 

Jason and his wife, Abby, have a dog, Lily. Some of Jason and Abby’s favorite activities together include exploring new restaurants and spending family time together. Jason’s favorite hobbies include distance running, golfing, and hiking. He has competed in running races — including ultra marathons — for about three years. One of his big goals is to run 100 miles in 24 hours!
