Andrew Oswald, CFP®, CRPC®
Executive Advisor
Department: Advisors
Experience: Financial advisor since 2006
Education: Bachelor of Arts in management and political science; graduated with honors
Andy joined the team in May 2026 when Flaharty Asset Management became Modern Wealth Management. He strives to help great people make informed decisions so they can enjoy today with confidence for tomorrow. It’s important to Andy to understand his clients’ values and goals and design a plan to help them toward their goals in a meaningful way. Andy builds relationships with clients with the goal of helping them connect with the people and causes they care about most.
Andy has served as a financial advisor since 2006. He previously spent eight years at Ameriprise Financial prior to arriving at Flaharty Asset Management in 2014. Andy has realized throughout his career that conventional financial planning often assumes there is a single correct path, whether it’s a formula to be followed or sequence of steps beginning with the “right” investment or “correct” budget. However, he wants people to understand that there is never just one way. When people are faced with countless possible paths, he enjoys showing them how the process of planning becomes not merely technical, but philosophical. Andy’s belief is that financial planning is not just the management of money. It reflects your own inner framework of meaning, shaped as much by your spirit and mind as by the mechanics of the market.
Andy is married with two sons. He’s passionate about his career, as he gets to see the outcome of his hard work. Andy loves splitting time between relationships and analysis. Outside of work, you can find Andy spending time with his kids, golfing, staying physically active, playing drums and guitar, traveling, and reading. Andy is also a board member of Polywogs Charities Inc., which is a charitable group that provides significant financial contributions each year to Pinellas County-based organizations, including R’ Club Child Care, All Children’s Hospital, Children’s Dream Fund, St. Petersburg Free Clinic, First Tee of St. Petersburg, and Ready for Life.
