Select Modern Wealth Management financial advisors enjoyed a beautiful day with some clients for the firm’s 2021 Charity Golf Event on Thursday, October 14, at Deer Creek Golf Club. Whether the advisors and clients were hitting greens and fairways or finding bunkers and water hazards, everyone was grateful for the opportunity to benefit the Supporting Kids Foundation.
“It means a lot that you would pay to play for a good cause,” Client Specialist Juls Cook Tramposh said during the awards ceremony. “Everything that you all donated went directly to Supporting Kids Foundation. You guys gave almost $800 in mulligans today alone.”
A Tradition Unlike Any Other

The team of Austin Hardison, Jeff Zimmerman, Jeff Vineyard, and Steve Bean win the Modern Wealth Management 2021 Charity Golf Event.
For clients like Steve Bean, the charity golf event has become something to look forward to every year. Steve was one of six clients to put together a foursome of his own. Austin Hardison, Jeff Zimmerman, and Jeff Vineyard joined Bean to card a winning scramble score of 18-under. They tallied two eagles, 14 birdies, and two pars.
“I’ve been in the Supporting Kids charity tournament for the last five or six years. It’s one of the things I do every year for charity,” Bean said. “We love to do charity work. I’m retired, so I can do a lot of that.”
Finishing two strokes back of Bean’s group in second place were Bob Triano, Bob Larsen, Glenn Donnelly, and Dave Borgerding. Borgerding also won the longest drive competition. The group of Ron Springer, Mark Alvord, Tracy Protsman, and Patrick Turner shot 13-under to finish third.

Ron Springer, Mark Alvord, Tracy Protsman, and Patrick Turner claim third place in the Modern Wealth Management 2021 Charity Golf Event.
Triano, Springer, Mike Heiting, Mark Hill, and Vann Martin joined Dean in forming their own foursomes. Other clients like Dave Klimek got the best of both worlds. Dave was a part of a group that was comprised of financial advisors and clients.
“It was a good time. The company was good,” Klimek said. “The advisors (Logan DeGraeve and Eric Sheerin) are always fun to play with, along with a fellow client (Marcus Allen). Win or lose, it’s a good time to get out and enjoy retirement.”
Nothing But the Bottom of the Cup
After witnessing DeGraeve win the closest to the pin competition, Klimek won a prize of his own after the tournament. While every player was given two tries to sink a long putt during the post-round putting contest, Klimek only need one attempt to drain it.
“I didn’t make very many putts during the tournament. But just watching everyone else during the putting content, I could see where it was going to go,” Klimek said. “It was lucky, but I’ll take it. It was a lot of fun.”
